Treatment Prep, Aftercare & Safety

  • Pre-Care

    • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 4 weeks before treatment.

    • Do NOT wax, tweeze, thread, bleach, or use depilatory creams during your laser sessions.

    • Avoid sunless tanners/spray tans for 4 weeks.

    • Stop the following 1 week before: oral antibiotics, Tretinoin (Retin-A), Renova, and topical acne medications.

    • If you have a history of cold sores, treatment cannot be performed during an active outbreak.

    • Arrive with: smooth, cleanly shaved skin (shave 24 hours before).

    • No makeup, SPF, lotions, deodorants, or creams on the treatment area.

    • No numbing creams should be applied.

    What to Expect During Treatment

    • A slight zapping or warm sensation is normal.

    • Soprano Ice & Nd:YAG lasers use cooling tips for comfortable treatment and are safe for all skin types.

    Post-Care

    • Avoid sun exposure for 1 week; use SPF 30+ daily.

    • No hot showers, saunas, gyms, sweating, or pools for 24 hours.

    • Do not pick or scratch the skin; let any redness or scabbing heal naturally.

    • Use aloe vera, hydrocortisone, or ice packs if needed.

    • Makeup may be applied unless blisters/crusting develop.

    • Only shaving is allowed between sessions — no other hair-removal methods.

    Safety Notes & Restrictions

    • Mild redness is normal and usually fades within hours.

    • 5–8 sessions are typically needed, spaced:

      • Face: every 4–5 weeks

      • Body: every 6 weeks

    • Maintenance: 3–4 sessions per year.

    • Cannot be treated if pregnant, breastfeeding, on Accutane (within last year), have open wounds, certain cancers, epilepsy, or conditions sensitive to light.

    • Tattoos and permanent makeup must be avoided during treatment.

    • Pre-Care

      • Skin is cleansed before the procedure.

      • Numbing cream or cold spray may be used 30 minutes prior for comfort.

      Post-Care

      • Do not wash your face or apply makeup for 48 hours.

      • Avoid hot showers, sweating, swimming, and gym for 48 hours.

      • Use the antiseptic cream provided exactly as instructed.

      • Let any scabbing fall off naturally — do NOT pick.

  • Pre-Care

    • Keep nails clean and dry before treatment.

    • Remove nail polish.

    Post-Care

    • Keep feet dry after treatment.

    • Avoid nail polish for several days.

    • Follow hygiene instructions to prevent re-infection.

  • Pre‑Care:

    • Avoid active ingredients like retinoids, tretinoin, benzoyl peroxide, AHA/BHA acids, and exfoliants for 5–7 days before treatment.

    • Discontinue use of isotretinoin (Accutane) for 6 months prior.

    • Avoid sun exposure, tanning, and sunburn for at least 1–2 weeks before.

    • Avoid waxing, depilatories, and electrolysis for 5–7 days before treatment.

    • Do not take anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., ibuprofen) or blood-thinning supplements 3 days prior, if possible.

    • Inform your provider if you’ve had recent laser or filler treatments, or any major skin procedure.

    • Do not shave the treatment area on the day of microneedling.

    Post‑Care:

    • Immediately after treatment and for the first 24 hours:

      • Expect redness, swelling, or a sunburn-like sensation.

      • Cleanse with only lukewarm water, and avoid applying makeup, cleansers, or active products.

    • Days 2–4:

      • Use a gentle cleanser and hydrating serum.

      • Use zinc-oxide sunscreen once microchannels have started closing.

      • Avoid strenuous exercise, heat, and sweating.

    • Days 3–7:

      • Some flaking or peeling may occur as the skin heals.

      • Continue to avoid active skin actives (acids, retinoids) for at least a week.

    Safety & Contraindications:

    • Not recommended if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have used Accutane in the last 6 months.

    • Avoid treatment if you have active acne, infections, cystic skin disease, or cold sores.

    • Conditions like keloid scarring, immune suppression, or uncontrolled diabetes may disqualify you.

    • There is a risk of redness, bruising, or pigment changes; these typically resolve over several days.
